Dr Louise Hickman
Louise Hickman is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy and Ethics at Newman University. She studied at the Universities of Exeter and Cambridge, where she completed her PhD at St. Edmund's College. Her main research interests are the history of the philosophy of religion, and science and religion. She has a recently published monograph, Eighteenth Century Dissent and Cambridge Platonism: Reconceiving the Philosophy of Religion (Routledge, 2017) and is the editor of Reviews in Science and Religion, the journal of the UK's Science and Religion Forum.
She has also edited two books for the Forum, Chance and Providence: Religious Perspectives on Divine Action and Forty Years of Science and Religion (co-edited with Neil Spurway). Further projects underway include a monograph on the history of the soul and a research project on natural theology and ecotheology.
